Modern Practical Farriery, A Complete System of the Veterinary Art as at Present Practised at The Royal Veterinary College London by W.J. Miles Including Practical Treatises on Cattle, Their Management in Dairy, Field and Stall by John Walker; Pasture Grasses and Forage Plants by Samuel Preston; The Practice of Sheep Farming by Charles Scott and The Diseases of Cattle, Sheep and Pigs by J.L. Lupton. Undated, but a former owner's name is written at the top of the front free end paper with the date 1906. The text block is good but the boards are poor. The front is badly scrubbed, and only the front board is held to the block by 4 cm of webbing. The rear board and spine are connected together but detached from the block. Corners worn, spine ends crushed. Foxing on front leaves up to the preface, and on rear leaves; occasional spots on pages. Pages and illustrations generally clean, with tanning around margins. Index pages creased and edges ragged. Some former owner's handwritten lists of drug doses, ointments and oils are on, or attached to, the rear end paper, which adds interest. Weight 2.94 kg
