Hardback, 1971, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Signed first edition, with a hand-written letter from the author. Slight rubbing at edges of dustjacket but otherwise in very good condition. This volume consists of 25 tales, some of which are popular versions of historical narratives from the classics such as "Yao the Great Seeks a Successor" and "Great Yu and the Flood". Others are taken from the tradition of oral story-telling by ordinary men and women from Hong Kong and other parts of China.
