Dancers from America's leading dance companies are brought together by award-winning photographer James Houston's unique photographic project created to benefit AIDS charities. A collection of stunning b/w images, Move captures the raw energy and emotion of movement. Pushing the human body to its physical limits, Houston creates unique portraits that go far beyond traditional dance photography. With an introduction by Hugh Jackman. About the Author: James Houston was born in Sydney, Australia in 1965. His three previous books, Raw, Rawmoves (Fine Arts Press/Craftsman House, 1997 and 1999, respectively), and One Yogamoves (Jamie Durie Publishing, 2005) all focus on the human body. His work has been exhibited extensively throughout Australia, Asia, and Europe. Now living in New York, Houston's eye for beauty and form is requested by clients such as Donna Karan, Givenchy Paris, Interview magazine, American Vogue, and celebrities such as Cate Blanchett, Kirsten Dunst, Elle MacPherson, and Christy Turlington.
