An account of the making of Abel Gance's classic film (first shown in 1927) and its reassembly and showing in Britain and the United States in the 1980s. Contains a synopsis of Gance's original scenario. Hardback book in very good condition. Bottom end of spine and bottom corners lightly bumped. Mark on title page. Signed on title page with "To Colin Davies Kevin Brownlow". There is another signature that is hard to decipher - possibly Bambi Ballard, who was a research collaborator. Dust jacket in very good condition. Price clipped. Corners bumped. Light shelf wear.
