The New Illustrated Bible: The Holy Bible with Concise Introductions to the Several Books. Edited by The Rev. Donald Macleod D.D. with Engravings on Steel and Wood. Published by J.S. Virtue & Co. London, 1880. Vols 1, 2 & 3 in two bound leather volumes. Bound volume 1 - Genesis to Song of Solomon. Bound volume 2 - Isaiah to Revelation plus Bible Dictionary or Compendium of Information. Antique good condition. No major damage but some wear to cover edges and spine is starting to detach from the base of the front cover of bound volume 2 (see photos). Hardcover bound in black leather with gilt inlaid design. All page edges gilt. Full page b/w engravings on steel plus in text illustrations as shown. Maps in colour. Pages in very good condition with occasional minor foxing. Approximate size of each volume - 15 x 11.5 x 2.5 inches. The items are very heavy, and this is reflected in the shipping price.
