This is the story of a miner, now 81 years young - a child of the century. He relates his experiences from the early 1900s through the Great War and the hardships of the '20s and '30s, to his final day underground in the 1960s. At the heart of the book is the General Strike of 1926 and the author's part in the derailment of the Flying Scotsman at Cramlington, Northumberland. Note on condition. There is one small nick to the bottom front of the dustjacket. There is a gift inscription inside and a library stamp inside the back cover.
