Norton's Star Atlas and Telescopic Handbook: 8000 Stars, Clusters, Nebulae etc. and Lists of 500 Interesting Objects - Arthur P. Norton and J. J. Gall Inglis. Published by Gall and Inglis, Hardback (no dust jacket) 1964. Fifteenth edition. Originally published in 1910. When this work was first published, it was aimed at amateur astronomers (or 'telescopists') whose instruments were mounted on alt-azimuth stands or as equatorials without graduated circles. Some of the features added for the '1920 epoch' maps were retained but altered. Arthur Norton died in 1955, and some alterations were made after this date. The work includes a front index, astronomical tables, definitions of astronomical terms, maps astrological charts and much more. Condition: Fair. On the front free end paper can be found some flattened creases. Along the top is considerable foxing of larger size and darker than the usual. Externally there are patches of fading at the top and bottom of the spine, extending on to the spine.
