Not Winston, Just William? Winston Churchill at Harrow School - Jim Golland. Published by The Herga Press, Paperback, 1994, reprint. Originally published in 1988, reprinted 1991. This booklet is adapted from an article printed in the souvenir brochure for the gala performance of the musical "Winnie" at the Victoria Palace Theatre on 26th May 1988, for the Harrow School Development Trust. It includes some prose about Churchill's life at Harrow, a diary of Churchill's notable events there, his examination results and a Churchill family tree, This booklet argues against the commonly-held notion that Winston Churchill was a failure at school, and that he was unhappy and bored. His letters home and school archives reveal a different story. Although Churchill didn't reach sixth form or university, or enjoy Latin or team games (the two latter being the twin traditions at Harrow) he managed to find many compensations, and lived a full and active life at school. Condition: Good. The interior of this short book is clean and well bound. The cover is slightly creased, as is the title page, and front and back are slightly foxed around the margins.
