*These books are in Czech* 5 Volume Set Canvas bound books with colour plates and patterned end pages. From another online seller: Vse, co jsme poznali v prvni knize, bylo jakymsi uvodem: i pokud slo o zivot samotneho Veka, tam teprve studenta, i pokud slo o vyliceni ceskeho zivota na prahu obrozeni. Cely prvni dil podava obraz stareho, konservativniho venkova, i stare, bezstarostne Prahy s jejim rokokovym rozkosnictvim. A novy cesky zivot, mimo jedno vystoupeni prof. Vydry, representoval tam jedine V. Tham. Translated version: Everything we learned in the first book was a kind of introduction: even if it was about the life of Vek himself, then only a student, even if it was a description of Czech life on the threshold of revival. The entire first part presents a picture of the old, conservative countryside, as well as old, carefree Prague with its rococo charm. And a new Czech life, apart from one performance by prof. Otters, represented there only by V. Tham. - In all this, the second part of the work is completely different. We enter the self-confident world of A.P. Vrba, immediately behind him we recognize the old peasant Svehla, connected to Kramerius's "Book of Joseph", and "Ceska expedice" is already a revivalist workshop, fully confident in the success of its work. Only then does J. introduce us to the work's own hero, F. L. Vek, to his rural still life in Dobruska. He becomes a buyer, but he does not fall into smallness, but rather he is an awakener of his surroundings.
