Olmeca Altos Reposado delivers serious agave flavor at a serious value. Henry Besant and Dre Masso were a couple of award-winning bartenders in the UK... isn't that the great start to a story? Especially when the story ends with a great bottle of Tequila. The two friends set out to create a high-quality, cocktail-friendly Tequila. And since Tequila in the UK is fairly expensive, they wanted to create a great value too. True to their mission, their Tequilas -- Plata (silver), Reposada, and Anejo -- are all 100% Weber Blue Agave. Half of their agave pinas are ground in stone tahonas, the other 50% in stainless steel roller mills. Olmeca Altos Reposado is properly aged for ten months in ex-Bourbon casks. And this fine little Mexican dram has a ton of bang-for-the-buck value. In a blind tasting, Olmeca Altos Tequila Reposado placed second out of six contenders -- all of which were double the price or more. In my book, that's a ringing endorsement. If you are looking for a Tequila that can be mixed into a great craft cocktail and can stand on its own as a daily dram, you may have found the perfect new addition to your liquor cabinet.
