Sustainable Maple Wood EN-71-3 certified 100% Organic GOTS certified hemp fabric. Hospital grade Certified Antibacterial 100% hemp fabric. Non-Toxic Eco-Fibre Reactive Dyes. Sealed in organic virgin cold pressed coconut oil the ring is also offered unfinished, meaning the wood has not been coated in any oil. This is still perfectly safe for baby, and gives you the option to coat it in a different oil at home. Why The Umi Teether?During the different stages of teething, your baby will want to switch between a hard and soft surface to soothe their aching gums. The Umi teether allows your baby to choose between the hard maple wood teether, or the soft organic hemp fabric. And the handy little clip on the end ensures it doesn't fall on the floor, and makes it easily accessible for your baby. The reason I chose organic hemp, is because it is 4x's more absorbent than cotton, naturally antibacterial, and it gets softer and stronger with every wash. Every baby dribbles during teething, which means the fabric will hold a lot of moisture. With fabrics such as cotton, this can be a breading ground for bacteria and mould, however our signature pure hemp fabric is tested to be hospital grade antibacterial and therefore greatly minimising this risk. Unlike silicone teethers, Maple wood and hemp are naturally antibacterial. Being that the Umi teether is natural, it is also a sustainable product, while silicone is man-made and not eco friendly.
