Promotion: About Matt Halpern Matt Halpern born in 1983 took an early interest in music at a young age getting his first junior drum set at just age 3 before switching to a full-sized kit at aged 6 and taking private drum lessons. He began performing throughout the northeast of the USA at a young age and released his first EP at age 17. In 2012 Halpern launched Bandhappy.com an educational website where likeminded students could take live one-on-one video lessons with various established artists. In 2016 Halpern developed the software company GetGood Drums a sample-based drum software synthesizer. In 2018 Periphery left Sumerian Records and founded their own independent record label 3DOT Recordings which they use to this day. Also in 2012 Halpern formed a rock group called The Mothership with his Periphery bandmate Spencer Sotelo. In 2020 this project was revived and renamed King Mothership. Why choose a Brass shell? Unlike other shell materials brass offers an incredibly versatile and balanced sound with open highs mids and lows.
