The Air Ministry and Admiralty published Pilot's Notes on every type of aircraft flown by the RAF and Fleet Air Arm. They were designed so the pilot could familiarise themselves with the aircraft's individual controls, flying characteristics and operational limits, rather like an owner's manual. This particular book is for later variants of the Hawker Sea Hawk, which first flew in 1947 and entered service in March 1953. Two of the variants in this book, the F.2 and F.B.3, entered production in early 1954, with the other variants following soon after. A total of 542 Sea Hawks were built, serving with the navies of the UK, West Germany, the Netherlands and India. The book covers areas including fuel systems, cockpit equipment, limitations, handling and operating data. It includes a number of fold-out diagrams of the aircraft and the interior of the cockpit. The book is in fairly good condition, with notable wear and fading around the outer edges of the covers, but still in one piece. Internally the pages are clean, the binding secure and illustrations clear.
