Poets of Cockermouth and District. Biographical notes by E.R. Denwood and and foreword by A.N. Stones. First Edition, 1934. Paper covers, Very Good. Extremely scarce. Fore-edge of front wrapper is somewhat creased and has three small tears (about 0.5 cm) without loss to this edge. Two dark marks from the stapled binding show through to the front wrapper next to the spine. Small area of rubbing (about 1 x 0.5 cms) on the rear cover, which also has a diagonal crease-mark to the lower left. Page edges are uncut and the contents are completely clean and bright. Overall Very Good condition. See photographs. Ten plates (illustrations, portraits etc) plus 120 pages of text. In printed paper wrappers. An anthology of Cambrian poetry from Victorian times through to the 1920s, some in local dialect, with around a score of local poets represented. Privately Printed at the Times Printing Works, Cockermouth, in 1934.
