The Cambria, Thames sailing barge London built 1906 at Greenhithe. Cost PS1895, length 90ft , sail area 5000 sq. ft cargo 170 tons, crew, skippers and mate only. these larges traded from the Thames to the east coast, English Channel and the Continent, Around 1900 hundreds of them brought hay into London for the thousands of working houses, returning down stream to dump city refuse. The is virtually unaltered and was, until purchased by the Maritime trust in1970, the last British vessel trading under sail alone.
