Project X .999 Fine Silver Flex Clay can be fired using a torch or kiln, ensuring utmost convenience and flexibility. Its lower firing temperatures make it accessible to a wide range of jewellery makers, eliminating the need for costly equipment. Once fired, Project X .999 Fine Silver Flex Clay delivers an exquisite, professional-grade finish, enhancing the brilliance and shine of your creations whether you use torch or kiln firing. Even after firing, the flex clay remains remarkably bendable, allowing for versatile designs allowing additional modifications of the final piece. When air-dried, the silver clay remains more pliable than standard metal clays, allowing you to bend and wrap dry clay around forms, perfect for intricate construction projects like ring bands and bracelets. Firing options High temperature - 900degC for 30 minutes for the highest hardness and maximum durability Low temperature - 600degC for 45 minutes Torch firing at high temperature for 2 minutes or longer For best results, use a kiln with proper ventilation, ceramic tiles or soldering pads Please note - Allow the piece to cool down before removing it from the kiln for safety. Project X .999 Fine Silver Flex Clay has a 24% shrinkage reducing the risk of cracking or distortion of the final piece. The clay will remain slightly bendable after drying in open air. Dry, open air for at least 30 minutes before proceeding with bending. Heat at 148degC for 30 minutes?before firing the clay to ensure no moisture remains. Top Tips Maintain a waterproof work surface using materials like Teflon or glass Avoid using aluminium foil and tools during the crafting process Keep unused clay airtight to prevent drying out and revitalize it with a few drops of water or Project X X2O Rehydration Fluid (855 322) Work while clay is soft and malleable or refine after drying The composition of the silver clay is .999 silver powder (approximately 90%), water and binder. Project X .999 Fine Silver Flex Clay ensures a composition of 99.9% fine silver after firing. It has a 960degC melting point. Please note While your clay may appear dry at first glance, it`s simply a part of its exceptional design! The unique `dryness` of the clay upon opening the package is a result of the vacuum packing process, which compacts the clay. Unlike other clays, this means that the clay requires conditioning before use, a simple step that ensures your material is primed and ready for use. Project X metal clay is crafted to transform into a perfectly smooth and workable substance without the need for water. This innovative process is effortless, either roll the clay or knead it with your fingers before proceeding with your creation. Once you do, watch how this clay effortlessly evolves into a smooth and creamy material. It is a fundamental principle to knead your clay to awaken elasticity of the binder without adding water to fresh clay, which can lead to unwanted stickiness.
