Merchant's Category: Media> Music & Sound Recordings
Seymour Records was launched by Seymour Schwartz in Chicago in August 1950, recording sessions featuring the Jimmy James Jas Band, the Johnny Young Trio, bop tenor saxophonist Kenny Mann, and singer Lurlean Hunter. Only five records were ever released, pressed in editions of 1000 and sold in Schwartz's record store in Chicago. These records are now beyond rare; this is one of two we are offering for sale, both featuring the Jimmy James Jas Band. To see both records please search for CR 2667. SIDE 1 Black and Blue (Razaf-Waller) George Zack, vocal Jimmy James Jas Band SIDE 2 Sit Down and Write Myself a Letter (Ahlert-Young) Jimmy James Jas Band Condition: E- (78) Both sides retain their sheen but show a few surface scuffs and scratches; the labels are clean with just minor spindle and other light wear.
