The original mischief-maker at Rebel Bourbon, the Whiskey brand that inspired one of the greatest 80s songs. The original Rebel Bourbon was made by the W. L. Weller & Sons Company and it was actually William Larue Weller himself who pioneered replacing rye with wheat in Bourbon. And though the distillery popped into existence in 1849, it wasn't until the mid-1900s that they started bottling American Whiskeys under the Rebel Bourbon brand. The formula and branding were actually created by a character named Charles R. Farnsley -- who served as both Mayor of Louisville, Kentucky, and as a Congressman... politicians and alcohol, right? We're sure you've connected the dots to a certain Billy Idol by now and let us tell you how the story goes. Billy was doing shots with Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ron Wood at a party. Keith Richards just loved him some hard liquor and he was fond of Rebel Bourbon -- he's the one who brought the bottle. Billy liked the name and asked the gents if he could borrow it for a song title. At Rebel Bourbon, they say their Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is the original mischief-maker. Made from Rebel Bourbon time-honored recipe with a mash bill of corn, wheat and malt and bottled at 80 proof, this bottle packs a punch and delivers a smooth body, packed with flavor and spice. Critics seem to think it's pretty great as well, with this Rebel Bourbon bottle winning Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirit Competition in 2016.
