Rediscovering Herbert Horne: Poet, Architect, Typographer, Art Historian
Merchant: Oxfam
Merchant's Category: Media> Books
Hardcover published by ELT Press, Department of English, University of North Carolina, 1990. Herbert Horne (1864-1916) was poet, architect, editor, essayist, designer of books, and the first scientific historian from the British Isles. In a period known for the brevity of its lives, the narrowness of its range, its perpetual flight to the peripheral, Horne's sanity, sobriety and variousness are remarkable. Ian Fletcher here provides an engaging account of the work of one of the more fascinating though elusive personages of his time, illustrated with reproductions of Horne's designs and typography. Hardback with dust jacket. The jacket's inside flap is creased, but otherwise the book and jacket are in excellent condition, with no notes or inscriptions.
