Reduced Prevention And Control Of Yellow Fever In Africa By World Health Organization Geneva
Merchant: Oxfam
Merchant's Category: Media> Books
This publication is intended for the use of medical and public health officers in the yellow fever endemic zone in Africa; it alerts them to the dangers of yellow fever and suggests possible approaches to its control. Successful yellow fever immunization campaigns carried out in several African countries between 1940 and 1960 caused a dramatic decline in the incidence of the disease, but this was followed by a reduction in surveillance and control activities. As a result, the past 25 years have seen a resurgence of yellow fever virus activity in many parts of the endemic zone. Incorporating information from recent studies on the epidemiology of yellow fever in Africa, this book provides practical and up-to-date guidance on diagnosis, surveillance, and prevention as well as on the management of cases and epidemics. Shelf wear with bumped corners. The name of the previous owner is written on the first page. Pages are slightly yellowed along the edges but clean. In good condition.
