James George Cornish (1860-1938) was the son of Rev. Charles John Cornish by his first wife and was born at Debenham Vicarage, Suffolk. After taking Holy Orders he was curate at Faringdon, Berkshire, rector of East Lockinge, Berkshire and Vicar of Sunningdale in the same county until retirement in 1919 to Sidmouth, Devon. These memories were written during the last year of his life, and have been edited by his elder brother. "He was the kind of parson who has contributed to the wholesome life of the English countryside" (Preface) Hardback with blue boards. No dustjacket. Title in cream on front board and spine. Spine faded. Corners to boards bumped Marks and wear to boards. Loose at front endpaper and half-title. Foxing throughout.
