The fourth release of "A Very Rare Bourbon" is the best yet with a perfectly well-balanced dram of spicy Bourbon love. George Remus Bourbon is named after a legendary Whiskey-man who operated on both sides of the law during Prohibition, earning the nickname "King of the Bootleggers." The George Remus line-up is comprised of high-rye Bourbons aged over five years. Owned by and made in one of the country's most historic distilleries (MGP), George Remus is perfectly blended from premium stock to become your go-to Bourbon. George Remus Bourbon created an annual limited release of special Bourbon casks they call "A Very Rare Bourbon." Remus Repeal Reserve Series IV Straight Bourbon Whiskey is -- as you would expect -- the fourth edition. They combined two of their signature Bourbons distilled in 2008 with two different mash bills to get just the right balance. 77% is Bourbon with 21% rye in the mash, the rest is Bourbon made from 36% rye. And just to prove all those kids wrong who said "You'll never use Algebra in real life," that makes a blended dram that has 24.45% rye. And it's bottled at 50% ABV in a retro Art Deco decanter, so you'll taste every fraction with glee. All the reviewers are salivating over this one.
