Rev Henry Robinson Wadmore -Set of 12 Rare Original Pencil Drawings The drawings date from the late 19th century and include scenes of: The Peterborough area and Cathedral. Lichfield. Eastgate House Rochester. Kent. Worcester. Toulon Cathedral, France. ?Norfolk Priory Gate These drawings are in very good condition for their age. They do have rough edges, but this is an original feature. There is minimal marking and creasing. The drawings will be sent via courier due to the value. Henry Robinson Wadmore (1824 - 1897) was born in London, the son of James and Henrietta Wadmore. Henry's family were originally from Southampton, where they had a long record of service in the Navy. He was MA Oxford 1845 (Pembroke), ordained 1846, MA 1848, when made curate of South Stoke, Berks. His first independent cure was St. John Nottingham Hill from 1857 to 1860 when appointed to Mary Abbott's, Kensington. In 1864 he founded and endowed a new church in St. John's Wood, (All Souls, Hampstead) designed by his brother, James Wadmore. It was consecrated in 1865, and Henry remained patron and incumbent until his death around 1904, when the patronage passed to the Bishop of London. Wadmore also produced illustrations for various religious periodicals, some of which are in the New Zealand National Library.
