A rare opportunity to acquire a numbered book of this limited first edition, our book being 113 of 1000. Generally in good to very good condition, photographs have been shown for you to see. Some rubbing to spine ends and corners. Pages clean and crisp throughout. Note that in some books of this age the binding process leads to uncut pages, around 30 in this case. Rather that cut these we have left them as they are. The top edge has been cut and the other sides are rough cut. Boards being an attractive embossed black (see photo). The front end paper has the watermark within its paper, Les Bibliophiles. Reveries of a Bachelor or A Book of the Heart is a book by American author Donald Grant Mitchell, published in 1850 under the pseudonym Ik Marvel. In the text, the author theorises on boyhood, country life style, marriage, travel, and dreaming. A reverie is an irregular train of thought or abstract musing, and Mitchell writes on four different themes, 1. Smoke, Flame and Ashes, 2.Sea Coal and Anthrocite 3.A cigar three times lighted 4.Morning Noon and Evening. The book has artwork by way of several attractive sketches.
