Rowlock Rhymes and Songs of Exile (An Antrim Keepsake) - "North Antrim". Edited & illustrated by Sam Henry. Published by The Quota Press, Hardback with dust jacket, 1933. Internet research shows the Quota Press to have been based in Belfast. Illustrated. The original author of the songs and poems of this book was well known and loved in a corner of Antrim (on the north-eastern shores of Lough Neagh) Northern Ireland. Although not a fisherman himself, the author's hero-worship centred around the local fishermen. The pen-name of "North Antrim" cloaked a personality deeply imbued with the Celtic spirit. Illustrated with black-and-white/sepia plates of the area and its people. A glossary of dialect words is included at the back of this book. This would be of great interest to anyone from Antrim, and/or is interested in its history. Condition. Book: Fair. Foxing and tanning present around the page edges, with some inside. The blue hard cover is still nice, with only a light fading on the spine. Some dirty marks on the fore-edge. Dust jacket: Poor. Suffering from wear, tear, tanning and grubby marks.
