Salomon s Stance 84 is a super-stable, high-speed cruiser, that will deal with whatever conditions it faces. This is the perfect model for advanced skiers who want an SUV of a ski for tackling any pistes and maybe some side-piste conditions too. The shape is ideal for range of turn sizes and the construction ensures that there s plenty of energy and grip for firmer snow. The nose and tail profiles, plus the rocker, provide effortless handling when the runs aren t pisted or you re exploring. Terrain Type & Ability Level Terrain Type It s built for a mix of different pistes plus some less challenging off piste. The dimensions and shape ensure it is smooth and fast on marked runs, whatever condition they are in as they re often not perfectly groomed. In fact, this is where the 84 will shine, when pistes get chopped or heavy and as narrower or more carve orientated skis start to feel trickier, it will handle as if nothing has changed. It s more than happy in fresh snow too, with All Terrain Rocker and the width producing flowing turns and a balanced feel, but it is groomed runs, of any colour, where it really shines. Skier Type For advanced skiers who enjoy a variety of conditions on marked trails. Pistes often have less than perfect snow, so by sacrificing a little bit of quickness in the turn there s a big gain in stability on the 84 and improved handling in rougher snow. The full wood core and Ti-C Frame mean you can push the limits, confident in the edge hold and enjoying the energy between the turns; the shape allows you to cruise when it s time to take it easier. Stronger intermediates will benefit from it's stability and should consider it too. Overview Shape 84mm in the waist is a good size for a ski that will spend plenty time on piste and still needs to work well in a lot of other conditions, narrow enough so it s still relatively quick edge-to-edge and with the width to be stable on rougher conditions and float in soft snow. The nose and tail both have a long transition to where the sidecut starts, meaning the ski has medium to short radius so that it feels quick to turn on piste. This shape works well with the rocker so that the turn initiation is predictable and safe on soft or variable snow, and the turn completion is smooth and easy to switch between carving or sliding. Rocker All Terrain Rocker uses rocker at the tip with an early rise tail and camber underfoot. This ensures smooth handling in softer snow with good turn initiation and release, plus grip and control on firm conditions. Core The Full Poplar Woodcore maximises liveliness, stability and ski-to-snow contact while filtering vibrations. This is reinforced with a single layer of Titanal on top of the core for improved grip and efficient energy transfer. Construction Full Sandwich Sidewalls guarantees stability and precision, it enhances performance by providing good edge grip and smooth ski-to-snow contact. Key Features Ti-C Frame The Ti-C Frame combines carbon windows and a Titanal laminate to create a damp, charging ski that inspires confidence regardless of speed, terrain, or conditions. EB tester's comments: Steve (Buying Team) One of the surprises of the test for me, I knew it would be good but I wasn t ready for just how good. On piste it makes the cleanest, easiest turns, even when it gets choppy, with a definite fun factor thanks to impressive grip and a nice energy at the end of the turn. Through softer snow it felt just as good: stable and strong to push through the heavier bits, and floaty and balanced when it was lighter. Ellis Brigham was born in 1933, the brainchild of Frederick Ellis Brigham, who set up business making cycling shoes and walking boots in a tiny 'two up, two down' building on the outskirts of Manchester.

After the war, as mountain walking and climbing became more and more popular, the shop began to sell ex-WD climbing equipment and Brigham's boots with their special nailing patterns became very sought after.

Fast forward almost 80 years and Ellis Brigham now has 24 shops across the UK and a leading website, making it the UK's premier retailer for ski hardware, mountaineering equipment and outdoor clothing.
