The Shire Houghton Summerhouse is great for anyone who enjoys spending time in their garden. Fill it with comfortable furniture to create a comfortable reading or relaxing area, or add a table and chairs to create a beautiful dining room, while a chair on the porch can provide the ideal place to sit in the sun. Because it is a Shire summerhouse, you may be confident that it is made of high-quality wood. Shire only buys wood from Scandinavia and Siberia, where the greatest wood for garden structures is grown. The timber is tight-grained, producing less sap, and is thus more durable than the faster-growing timber used by other summerhouse producers. The shiplap profile of the walls allows for good water runoff and keeps the summerhouse dry on the inside, while the tongue and groove structure reduces draughts. With two half-glazed doors for maximum light. The gate lock on the structure is eye-catching. The roof of the summerhouse is composed of water-resistant Oriented Strand board (OSB), which has properties similar to plywood. OSB, or 'Solid Sheet Board,' is a strong 'Solid Sheet Board.' The summerhouse's flooring is made of matching tongue and groove boarding for a professional look. The windows of the summerhouse are all glazed with 3mm horticultural glass. All Shire garden buildings are pre-treated on both sides with a golden brown water-based industrial solution (colour can vary from the picture shown). Shire suggests that you apply a water-based top coat of your choice. This will protect the lumber on your shed from weathering, allowing it to last longer, and will need to be repeated in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. Supplied flat packed for ease of handling and assembly. All fittings and felt are included in the price with clear easy to follow instructions.
