Rare SIGNED Very Good book, no notes or marks. Book and Contents very good, Black cover with gilt lettering. Unclipped Jacket has a 1cm tear to back & front, minor wear to top edge. Sir Jeremiah Fitzpatrick was the first inspector general of prisons and lunacy inspector in Ireland and the first and only inspector of health to armed forces in Great Britain. He inspected convict vessels bound for New South Wales and the East India Company's troopships, inquired into the Irish Charter Schools and attempted to alleviate the miseries of soldiers' dependents.
