This is for symptomatic relief of coughs. What is the active ingredient in Simple Linctus Paediatric and how does it work? The active ingredient in simple linctus is citric acid monohydrate. Citric acid works by coating the throat, relieving the effects of cough and soothing the throat. Citric acid is found naturally in the body and is often used as a pH-control agent in certain types of food. Warnings and Precautions Do not give Simple Linctus Paediatric to your child if: They are allergic to any of the ingredients this product contains. Speak to your GP or pharmacist before giving this product to your child if: They have an intolerance to some sugars They are on any other medication Ingredients The active ingredient is Citric Acid Monohydrate 31.25 mg/5 ml equivalent to 28.57 mg/5 ml Anhydrous Citric Acid. Other ingredients: glycerol (E422), sucrose and sodium benzoate (E211) Sucrose 4.4g per 5ml Sodium Benzoate 2.5mg per 5ml Please peel the label for the full ingredients list
