Citric acid works by coating the throat, relieving the effects of cough and soothing the throat. Citric acid is found naturally in the body and is often used as a pH-control agent in certain types of food. Warnings and Precautions Do not give Simple Linctus Paediatric sugar-free to your child if: They are allergic to any of the ingredients this product contains. Speak to your GP or pharmacist before giving this product to your child if: They have an intolerance to some sugars, as this product contains maltitol liquid They are on any other medication Note: This product contains small amounts of alcohol, with less than 100mg of ethanol per 5ml dose. Ingredients The active ingredient is Citric Acid Monohydrate 31.25 mg/5 ml equivalent to 28.57 mg/5 ml Anhydrous Citric Acid.
