A helmet integrating MIPS technology creates a sliding layer between the outer shell and the head. This allows the helmet's outer shell to slide relative to the head when hitting the ground, so the rotational force is decreased, reducing the potential to damage your brain. Smith Aerocore construction features Koroyd which was developed for the aerospace industry and provides superior impact absorption and ventilation compared to traditional helmet materials. The crumple-zone cylinders crush uniformly on impact absorbing energy whilst reducing the overall weight of the helmet. Venting Dual Regulator ventilation system independently controls the front and rear sections of the helmet vents, allowing you to modulate your body temperature even in extremely cold conditions. By exhausting heat through the rear vents while maintaining a sealed front end, your body can effectively cool down if needed and avoid the dreaded ice cream headache. AirEvac Ventilation allows goggles and helmets to function as one system, venting warm moist air away from the goggles, through the helmet climate control system and ultimately away from the head. Sizing System Crafted with ease-of-use and superior comfort in mind, the VaporFit system relies on a tried and tested rotary dial adjustment system integrated with a tuned elastic fit using engineered shapes. Each VaporFit system has a full 5cm of rotary adjustability. Additionally, the system can be moved up/down or forward/backward at the attachment points. The result is increased comfort with a personalised, secure fit. Construction Smith's hybrid shell combines in-mould and hard shell construction to get the best of both builds. By fusing tough bombshell ABS with flyweight in-mould technology, hybrid shell construction optimises the favourable traits of each material. The result is a modern design that provides a lightweight, low profile helmet.

Ellis Brigham was born in 1933, the brainchild of Frederick Ellis Brigham, who set up business making cycling shoes and walking boots in a tiny 'two up, two down' building on the outskirts of Manchester.
After the war, as mountain walking and climbing became more and more popular, the shop began to sell ex-WD climbing equipment and Brigham's boots with their special nailing patterns became very sought after.
Fast forward almost 80 years and Ellis Brigham now has 24 shops across the UK and a leading website, making it the UK's premier retailer for ski hardware, mountaineering equipment and outdoor clothing.
