Songs From Trinidad
Merchant: Oxfam
Merchant's Category: Media> Books
This volume is a compilation of songs from Trinidad, many of them originally sung and created under the yoke of slavery and oppression. This volume contains lyrics alongside sheet music arranged for voice, guitar, drum, and bass. Written by Edric Connor the famous Caribbean calypso singer, himself a native of Trinidad, this work is a product of its time - whilst the preface of the book decries the horrors of slavery and colonisation the author does use some language that may cause offence or be uncomfortable to a modern audience. The book is in fair condition, an ex-library book it has a fair amount of wear and marking on the cover, but it is structurally sound and the music manuscripts are clean and clear.
