David Vitale left the corporate training software market in 2007 to launch his vision for a uniquely Australian Whisky -- New World Whisky Distillery in Melbourne. Shortly thereafter he developed his first brand to fulfill that vision, and he named that brand Starward. Early-stage funding for the project came from Diageo's in-house funding division -- Distill Ventures -- and they were able to build their own production distillery in 2016 located in an old airplane hanger. And while Starward began as a producer of Malt Whisky, he has since expanded to a range of Whiskies and bottled cocktails that have taken Down Under by storm. Starward Whisky Gift Pack offers you the best of Melbourne born & bred. First, you get to sip on Starward Two-Fold Double Grain Whisky (40% ABV), which is one the most versatile Whiskies (or certainly the most versatile in Australia?). It's crafted with local Australian barley and wheat and aged in Australian red Wine barrels for you to be enjoyed any. way. you. like. Then, you'll move on to Starward Nova Whisky (41% ABV), their signature single malt. Aged in local Wine barrels that used to hold Shiraz, Cabernet, and Pinot Noir, this balanced and bold tipple is easily everyone's instant favorite. And finally, you'll get to taste Starward Solera Malt Whisky (43% ABV), their first Whisky. It uses the traditional Solera system, which means there's a drop in every bottle. Now, this one might be the most critically acclaimed out of the three (a snob, really) as it won Double Gold at San Fran International Spirit Competition as opposed to the other two who just won Gold at that same competition.
