The Sterling Silver & Blue Murano Glass Ocean Chainmail Necklace by NAIIADThe chain maille section is handcrafted with small Sterling silver rings assembled one at a time in the Byzantine weave, and combined with a beautiful glass bead carefully selected from high-quality artisans based in Venice, Italy. This abstract design is very modern with a striking combination of cobalt blue and Sterling silver foil. The lentil shaped glass bead measures approximately 20mm diameter. The placement of colours on this glass bead is random and no two beads are ever exactly alike. Each glass bead is handcrafted and therefore unique The Sterling silver snake chain is 16 inches/40 cm long. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like a longer chain (18 inches/45 cm long). About the Designer Born in the beautiful South of France, I moved to Ireland 18 years ago. After travelling the world and doing various jobs, I learnt metalsmithing and jewellery design at the AFEDAP Jewellery School in Paris. I then discovered the art of chainmail, the ancient art of assembling rings one at a time to weave fabric like patterns with metal. Chain maille is beautifully fluid and tactile, and I love exploring the endless creative possibilities offered by mixing chain maille with traditional silversmithing techniques. It allows me to create modern, feminine and unique pieces of jewellery which are a true pleasure to wear. My creations are an expression of my own personal journey, finding and embracing my deep nature as a woman, my inner strength as well as my femininity and sensuality.
