The Sterling Silver 1987 Lapponia Astaire Bangle from Scottish and Scandinavian Designs. Lapponia and Bjorn Weckstrom shot to fame in 1977 when George Lucas asked him to design a piece of jewellery for Carrie Fisher in Star Wars - as it turned out there was only 2 weeks to achieve this so Weckstrom picked his Planetoid Valley necklace from his Space series of jewellery for Princes Leia to wear in the final scenes and the rest as they say is history. A superb bangle/cuff from Bjorn Weckstrom's Hollywood series created in 1987 and in production until 1990 highly collectable and sought after as long out of production. The series was created to celebrate the Hollywood greats like Garbo (a ring) and in this case Fred Astaire. A silver cuff style bangle. Inset with polished granite it is a real statement piece.
