Rutilated Quartz is a type of clear quartz which contains naturally occurring needle-like shards of rutile, an ore of titanium. In this piece, they mainly appear black. I thought this was a lovely stone and designed and handcrafted this 925 Sterling silver setting to show it to its best effect. The stone is 3. 5 x 2. 5 cm and the overall pendant size is 8cm. IMPORTANT NOTE: This pendant is sold without a chain. Chains can be bought separately on request. The photograph shows this pendant being modelled on a 16. 5-inch chain, created in sterling silver snake chain with handmade clasps.
