A real aural treat here, for fans of that genius, the Hungarian (born in the town of "Komarom" in the Austro-Hungarian empire - nowadays part of Slovakia, and Slovakians call it "Komarno") opera composer, Franz Lehar (1870-1948). It is a recording of a German-led performance, of Lehar's "The Land of Smiles" (in this 1976 German product, called "Das Land des Lachelns"), with literally ALL the trimmings! i.e. a really top-notch cast of the best German-language vocalists / players of their era, plus the conducting legend that was the Austrian, Graz-born Robert Stolz (1880-1975) at the helm of Die Berliner Symphoniker (plus the Berliner's associated Choir ["Chor"], directed by Dr Gunther Arndt) ... (Photos Two to Four give the tracklistings [taken from the Gatefold-Sleeve]. Photos Five & Six show the centres of Sides 1 & 3) The Gatefold-Sleeve (main sample, Photo Seven) contains : Tracklisting ; Essay by U. Kraemer (all text in this product in German-language, only). The Reverse-Sleeve (sample Photo Eight) contains : Leading cast members ; Basic titles of the three Acts ; Colour still of Stolz, in action. Matrix-Runout codes :- Disc1 : "S 85500 A-2 76 Made in Germany" / "S 85500 B-1 Made in Germany". Disc2 : "S 85501 A-2 Made in Germany" / "S 85501 B-3 76 Made in Germany". (All typed).
