Strepsils Sore Throat and Cough Lozenges What are Strepsils Sore Throat and Cough Lozenges? Strepsils Sore Throat and Cough Lozenges contain two antiseptic ingredients, 2,4-Dichlorobenzyl Alcohol, and Amylmetacresol, to relieve throat infections and dry, irritating coughs associated with the common cold and nasal congestion. What are the active ingredients in Strepsils Sore Throat and Cough Lozenges and what do they do? Strepsils lozenges active ingredients are Amylmetacresol and Dichlorobenzyl, which are both antiseptics. These mild antiseptics kill bacteria associated with mouth and throat infections. When the lozenge is sucked it allows the active ingredients to coat the affected area. This helps to lubricate scratchy throats and soothe the pain. Strepsils sore throat and cough lozenges also contain Levomenthol which has a mild local anesthetic action to relieve pain and also relieves the symptoms of nasal congestion to ease coughs. Warnings and Precautions Not suitable for children under 6 years of age. Do not use if: You are allergic to any of the ingredients in these lozenges contain You have an intolerance to Fructose, Glucose-galactose, Sucrose isomaltose Speak to your GP or pharmacist before taking this product if: You are taking or have recently taken other medicine, with or without a prescription.
