The Raptor Tempest from Summit Technologies is an 8 channel wireless steering wheel panel providing finger tip control of electrical systems without the need for a coiled cable. Based on the tried and tested technology used in the successful raptor GP but in a package that gives an OEM look and feel designed specifically to fit popular aftermarket steering wheels. The buttons are housed in a hard wearing textured polyurethane foam pad which is waterproof so is ideal for open cockpit cars.High quality OEM look and feelFully wireless, no coiled cablesUser configurable button operationControl up to 8 different channelsAvailable to fit a range of popular aftermarket steering wheels (wheel sold separately)The Raptor Tempest is available in two versions, Clubman and Pro. The difference between the two models is in the receiver. The clubman model uses 12v relays for switching whereas the Pro model has a solid state receiver with 12v 250ma regulated outputs which can be switched down to 5v logic level for PDM use.All of the wiring in the Tempest is integrated into the panel so there is nothing external to snag or break. The switches are resin filled with protective caps to provide longevity and reliability. The panel is powered by a 3v CR2032 batteries which can be changed via the magnetic, quick release centre cap. The cap also features an LED which changes colour to display the current battery condition.The 12 volt receiver module has been developed to fit within a waterproof Deutsch enclosure to withstand the harsh environment a competition car endures. An 80cm long wiring loom with 12 pin Deutsch connector provides freedom of mounting.The Raptor has been designed to be fully user configurable and each of the buttons can be set to perform as either a Momentary, Latching or Flashing action. This gives the flexibility to use the Raptor to control pretty much anything in the car including Lighting, Horn, Lap timers, Traction Control, Launch Control, Wipers, Fans, Radio Communication and much more.The Raptor Tempest can be configured either for race use or as an IVA compliant system for use on road cars:Race configuration: The race version has no preset channels so can be user set to control whatever you require. When set to Flashing action the flash rate is pre set to 4 times per second (4hz) which is ideal to use as a 'Flash to pass' function when connected to the headlights. A sheet with decals designed to neatly fit into the switches is included and features many popular symbols such as PTT, rain light, flash, lock, TCS, NOS arm and NOS fire plus many more. Road configuration: The road version is fully IVA compliant and includes a decal sheet with IVA recognised symbols for functions such as Headlights, indicators, horn, hazard lights, wipers, washers plus many more. The high quality symbols fit neatly in the buttons to allow complete personalisation . The flash rate is pre-set at 2 times per second (2hz) which is an IVA requirement.
