Very rare item, original restricted circulation military documents from 1945. A thin card pocket, originally blue but now faded to pale blue and brown with black printing on the front. The pocket is torn and chipped at the top of the sides and unfortunately has been repaired on the left side by black adhesive tape which obscures the first letter of the main title which is believed to be 'C'. The pocket contains twelve diagrams; the first ten are command structures for aspects of the German State: Party District, Military District, Elite Guard, Storm Troops, Labour Service, Hitler Youth, Aviation Corps, Motor Corps, Police, Police (German translation). The eleventh chart is a map of Germany showing Wehrkreise (Military Districts) and Gau (subdivisions). The twelfth diagram is a translucent overlay of Provinces of Prussia and States. The twelve documents are in very good condition, diagram 3 has a vertical tear from the bottom edge for approx. 11cm along the centre fold, the map has a short 3cm horizontal tear along the centre fold line at the right-hand edge. Each document measures 43cm x 33cm. At the foot of diagram 1 is the identifier "S.H.A.E.F. G-2. C.1. Sub-Div. E.D.S." The Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force (S.H.A.E.F) was a joint U.S.-British military organization created in England in February 1944 to carry out the invasion of western Europe. Dwight D. Eisenhower, an officer of the United States Army, was appointed Supreme Allied Commander. Eisenhower organized his staff along U.S. military lines with separate staff sections devoted to personnel (G-1), intelligence (G-2), operations (G-3), logistics (G-4) and civilian affairs (G-5). This pocket of documents was from the Office of Assistant Chief of Staff G-2, Counter-Intelligence Sub-Division, Evaluation and Dissemination Section. At the foot is the release date - Revised April 1945.
