Forming a petite, upright, rounded shrub, this lilac makes a lovely selection for small gardens, mixed borders and containers. In late spring, Syringa ‘Red Pixie’ is smothered in panicles of red buds which open into deep pink tubular flowers, fading to pale pink. The flowers have an intense sweet fragrance and will frequently rebloom in late summer or early autumn. The blooms are accompanied by small, rounded mid-green leaves, lending ‘Red Pixie’ a dainty appearance that belies its tough nature. The foliage turns yellow in autumn. Syringa ‘Red Pixie’ copes with poor soils and is drought-tolerant once established. Height and spread: 1-1.5m (3.2-4.9ft).Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size.
