Now just PS30 a box, our Beer Club boxes are even better value than ever. Welcome to April’s Beer Club Box where we have attempted to cover as wide a number of styles as possible! First up is Nine Two Seven, brewed in collaboration with the talented and recognisable Brew By Numbers. This 5.5% beer is a Hazy English Style IPA named after the year that England was founded. Expect an earthy and floral aroma from the trio of British hop varieties, with a light, refreshing citrus-led palate. Hopefully, the perfect beer for longer, warmer days! Next up we return to our archives and bring back Charlie Brown*, a 6.2% Peanut Butter flavoured Brown Ale. An initial aroma similar to ripping the lid off a jar of Jif Peanut Butter (for those of you old enough to remember!) with subtle flavours of caramel, toffee and toasted biscuit on the palate. We then revisit our ongoing single hop series, with Quiet Storm Eclipse. This hop variety is native to Australia but descends from North America and is the perfect hop variety for the wonderful Pale Ale’s typically coming out of Australia. It has many of the characteristics you would expect, including pine and lemon but with a wonderfully refreshing mandarin sweetness which works really well with the malt bill in our series. We then follow on to our latest Sour in the hope that we really are getting some Spring like weather and that the lawnmowers are being fired up! Hayward is a 4.2% Kiwi and Lime Sour named after the most common variety of Kiwi fruit. As with all of our sours, we want the fruit to balance the tartness so that the sweetness of the kiwi is counteracted by the zestiness of the lime. Lastly, we continue our affinity with our 500ml bottles. Apricity is a 5.6% ESB (Extra Special Bitter) that was recently brewed for our Year Of Beer cask programme. It was so well received, we knew we needed to put it in 500ml bottles for our Beer Club members! Embrace all the traditional flavours of a Bitter but will a little extra alcohol to allow the nuttiness of the malt to really shine through, all balanced with English hops for a rounded, floral finish.
