Dr Richard Asher was one of the most outstanding medical thinkers of his time; a brilliant writer with a sparkling wit; and a distinguished clinician who was respected throughout the medical profession. The combination proved unique. he was a popular teacher, an inspired lecturer and a prolific writer. Many of his papers were published in leading medical journals. they displayed his remarkable verbal agility - and some were controversial. He was prepared to question standard medical thinking and his published work made his name a byword during is lifetime. Among the articles included here are the triad 'Sense and Sensibility', Myxedematous Madness', The Dangers of Going to Bed', and 'Munchausen's Syndrome'. These and many of his finest papers were brought together for the first time in this book. There is a foreword by Lord Rosenheim and and appreciation by Professor William Bean.
