A scarce illustrated topographical and geographical work on the River Thames from Oxford to London, including a folding map to the front, and illustrated maps reduced by photo-lithography. Also combined with an accompanying guide, giving travellers important topographical information about the area. Edited by Henry W. Taunt, photographer to the Oxford Agricultural Society this pocket edition has maps reduced from the larger Illustrated Edition and contains twenty-seven pages of adverts to the rear. Dating from 1873 this copy is in the publisher's original cloth binding and there is slight straining to the binding but given its age this is still remarkably tight in most places. There is age discoloration to the cover and tanning to the pages but is in nice clean condition.
