Light shelf-wear and marking to the dust-jacket. Publication No. 122 of London Topographical Society. The London Topographical Society A to Z series of books showcase fully-indexed maps of London at roughly 100 year intervals. Each reproduces a key map of the period. The indexes allow users to identify the position of streets and buildings, in some cases right down to small courts and alleys. They appeal to anyone interested in the development of London and are invaluable for those researching family history. The A to Z of Elizabethan London was compiled by Adrian Prockter and Robert Taylor with introductory notes by John Fisher. It is based on the so-called 'Agas' woodcut map showing London c.1560 reproduced in book form on a scale of about 28 inches per mile, with key and index. Extends Westminster-Whitechapel; Finsbury-Southwark.
