Black leather binding, raised bands with gilt decoration and title on spine, armorial owner's bookplate on front endpaper. xvi+320pp, engraved frontis and vignette title, 2 engraved presentation vignettes,16 engraved plates after noted artists including Lawrence, Stanfield, Bonington, Landseer, Gainsborough, making a total of 20 engraved images as called for. Some plates slightly foxed but generally in good condition, retaining original tissue guards. Binding firm. Collection of verse & prose, of a type much in vogue in the Regency and early Victorian period. Authors include John Clare, J G Lockhart, Miss Mitford, James Hogg, Caroline Bowles.
