One of 20 A5 size branch line histories published by OPC in the 1970s and early 80s. The history of this Great Eastern Railway cross country line from Braintree in Essex to Bishop's Stortford in Hertfordshire. An excellent history by a well respected railway author. 1981 1st edition, 210pp of text history, route map, timetables, locomotive drawings and detail maps with numerous B&W photographs throughout. The cover is worn around the edges and down the spine and the front cover has been bent in the middle and on the top right hand corner. The spine has also been faded.
