The Book of Common Prayer (BCP) is the name given to a number of related prayer books used in the Anglican Communion and by other Christian churches historically related to Anglicanism. The first prayer book, published in 1549 in the reign of King Edward VI of England, was a product of the English Reformation following the break with Rome. This version, embossed with the letters ihs, has a written date of 1928, but it is unrelated to the revised version of 1928 which was voted down by the House of Commons. It is the 1662 version, printed in the 1920s. This little book is in very good condition, it is leather, so there is not too much wear or damage. The pages are slightly discoloured from age though.
