'The Bookman' was a monthly magazine published in London from 1891 until 1934 by Hodder & Stoughton, a catalogue of current publications that also contained articles, reviews, advertising and illustrations. B&W illustration throughout. In this volume articles included on Samuel Pepys, Marie Corelli, Algernon Charles Swinburne, George Meredith, Oliver Wendell Holmes, Dr. Johnson. Used: ex-library copy with the usual book plate and stamp marks. Brown cloth over board, gilt titles on spine. Top and bottom of spine abraded, tear in cloth bottom of front hinge and top of back hinge. Binding is tight.
