The Dumpy Books for Children were a series of small-format books selected by E. V. Lucas and published by British publisher Grant Richards between 1897 and 1904. The Bountiful Lady or How Mary was changed from a very Miserable Little Girl to a very Happy one is no. 5 in the series. This copy of The Bountiful Lady is in Very Good condition. There is some bending of the edges of the cover ( see photos), a previous owner's name ( in pencil) on the free front endpaper and some small amount of foxing. The copy is not as tight as new and is a little floppy but is intact and looks good.
